The Dethleffs XL Family A, an alcove motorhome based on the Fiat Ducato, will be launched with a comprehensive refresh in model year 2025. Dethleffs, the renowned German manufacturer of motorhomes and caravans based in the Allgäu region, will be presenting this model at the Caravan Salon 2024.

Interior
The living area of the Dethleffs XL Family A has been thoughtfully designed and uses high-quality materials to create a pleasant atmosphere.
The seating area has an unusual design and comprises a horseshoe-shaped bench seat behind the driver's seat and a long bench seat on the passenger side. This arrangement offers space for six people and can be converted into additional sleeping berths if required.
With several direct and indirect light sources, you can create exactly the lighting mood you want. The 209 cm headroom and the large panoramic roof create a spacious and airy interior.
The sleeping area in the alcove offers a generous sleeping area of 210 x 165 cm and is equipped with a side window and a large roof hatch for fresh air supply.
The transverse bed with a sleeping area of 211 x 152 cm also offers excellent sleeping comfort. Here, campers sleep on a 150 mm thick 7-zone cold foam mattress, which is moisture-regulating. All mattresses are supported by an ergonomic wooden slatted frame.
Two windows ensure good ventilation, while there is plenty of space for laundry in the large overhead lockers. There are tension nets under the overhead lockers for everything that needs to be quickly to hand at night. A 230 V and two USB sockets keep your cell phone etc. charged.
The kitchen is well equipped and has a high-set refrigerator with a capacity of 137 liters, including a 15 liter freezer compartment. The AES function is very convenient: it automatically switches to the optimum energy supply.
There is plenty of storage space for crockery and kitchen utensils in the overhead lockers and drawers. They are rear-ventilated with the Dethleffs AirPlus system and thus protected against condensation. An oven, a 2-burner hob, a sink and a large work surface are also fitted as standard.
The bathroom is designed in two parts, with the WC and shower opposite each other. A curtain and a door can be used to transform it into a spacious bathroom, creating a generous hygiene area.
The semi-transparent tinted window and forced ventilation in the roof ensure good ventilation. When not in use, the shower can be used as a drying room for wet clothes or simply as a closet extension.
Technology and equipment
The Dethleffs XL Family A is equipped with modern electronics, including an on-board computer and various entertainment systems. The heating and air conditioning ensure a pleasant indoor climate, regardless of the outside weather conditions. The water supply includes fresh water and waste water tanks as well as a water heater. Airbags, various assistance systems and an alarm system ensure the safety of the occupants.
The family alcove is winter-proof. This is guaranteed by a 40 cm high double floor, a frost-proof water installation, hot water heating and double-glazed framed windows.
The Dethleffs XL Family A also has exclusive chassis equipment with a 180 hp Multijet engine, automatic torque converter transmission with eight gears, automatic cab air conditioning, cruise control, two reversing cameras and a leather steering wheel. Two Isofix fastening systems are fitted as standard to ensure safe travel with children.

The Dethleffs XL Family A offers plenty of storage space both inside and out. Numerous cupboards and shelves are available in the interior, while a spacious and heated rear garage (145 cm high and garage doors on the right and left) and a bicycle rack are available outside.
Exterior
The design of the Dethleffs XL Family A is modern and appealing, with various color options to suit the individual taste of the buyer. One of the special features of the exterior is the 6 m awning fitted as standard.
The 70 cm wide comfort body door with electric step provides easy access to the inside of the motorhome. The side walls, rear and roof are made of robust GRP, which is insulated with water-repellent XPS.
Price and availability
The base price of the Dethleffs XL Family A is just under EUR 125,000. The model presented with optional extras costs EUR 127,555. The motorhome is available to order now, with various financing and leasing options available.
